We seek a rock-star finance and accounting professional who is excited about building out systems and processes to support the scalability of our finance team. Specifically, we’re looking for a team member to oversee the financial modeling, cash management, and funds flow processes and reports that we use to support our ISA funds, as well as our operating company financials. Over time you will have the opportunity to help structure future ISA funds, support our ISA capital markets work, and directly impact the levers we optimize to drive student performance. 

Overall Purpose

 

Responsible for consolidating, managing, preparing, and administering the analysis of financial data (both operating company and ISA Fund), and the development of recommendations to achieve Stride’s financial objectives. 

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Reporting and analytics: Ownership of monitoring the performance and managing monthly and quarterly close procedures, along with investor reporting for ISA Funds - analytical skills and attention to detail is key

    • Weekly meetings to assess fund performance and identify shortcomings, developing strategies to drive strong student performance

  • Accounting: Design and implement accounting policies and process to support accrual financials and cash management of the business

  • Funds flow management: Work with our business development team and partners to design scalable funds flow procedures to support on-time disbursements to schools and partners, to manage capital calls, and to ensure student payments are disbursed to fund investors, as appropriate

  • Financial projections: Lead the development of projections for both operating capital and ISA capital 

  • Familiarity with financial regulations: Understanding of financial laws and procedures in order to protect investors 

  • Documentation skills: Prepare financial documents such as quarterly VC and ISA capital investor reports

  • Communication skills: Synthesize your analyses and views in a structured, cohesive written and verbal manner

 

Education: Bachelors or Advanced degree in business administration, finance, accounting or economics; prior experience in accounting (CPA), audit, or fund management preferred
